A township trustee is an elected official with specific responsibilities within local government. Some responsibilities include general duties, adhering to state laws, attend meetings and follow open meeting a public record regulation.

Conducting public meetings, the Board of Review reviews property assessments. They may modify the assessment roll presented by the assessor if necessary. The board certifies its actions through the signatures of a majority of its members. Upon completion of their duties, they deliver the certification and assessment roll to the assessor.
